Pokémon enters the World Video Game Hall of Fame via Pokémon Red and Green

Pokémon recently received a massive honor as the original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green games have been selected to enter the World Video Game Hall of Fame as one of the 2017 inductees. These Game Boy classics are being recognized for their popularity over a sustained period and their impact on popular culture. They will join the Hall of Fame alongside several other renowned video games, such as Tetris, Pac-Man and Super Mario Bros.

“Special thanks to The Strong interactive play museum in Rochester, New York, home of the permanent World Video Game Hall of Fame exhibit,” The Pokémon Company said in a statement. “Stop in to see Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green on display next to all of the great games in the Hall of Fame.”
