Video game industry analyst Mat Piscatella of the NPD Group has given some insight in regard to how he thinks Nintendo Switch will perform in 2018. According to Piscatella, Nintendo’s latest console has the potential to outperform the highly-successful Wii if Game Freak‘s Pokémon game for Nintendo Switch comes out next year. “If Pokemon comes next year I can easily see Switch outpacing Wii and taking 40+ share of the hardware market next year,” he said. “But it does depend on if Pokemon is next year or not.”
