First-ever Pokémon GO Community Day takes place later this week, January 20, featuring Pikachu knowing Surf

The first-ever Pokémon GO Community Day event is set to take place this Saturday, January 20. According to developer NianticPokémon GO Community Day is an opportunity for Trainers around the world to meet up at their local parks to make new friends and experience what it means to be a part of the massive Pokémon GO community. The first Pokémon GO Community Day features Pikachu that knows the exclusive event move Surf. Bonuses include double XP and three-hour Lures. See below for event hours in your region:

The Asia-Pacific region: January 20, 2018, from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. JST (GMT +9)
Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: January 20, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. UTC (GMT +0)
The Americas and Greenland: January 20, 2018, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. PST (GMT -8)

Join the Community
Get out and play together in your local community parks on Pokémon GO Community Day. For just a few hours each month, you can encounter a special Pokémon in the wild. During these hours, there’s a chance to learn a previously unavailable move for that Pokémon, as well as earn some Community Day bonuses. Celebrate what it means to be a part of the Pokémon GO community and make new friends along the way!
