Pokémon GO developer Niantic confirms Pokémon GO Community Day will take place every month

For the first Pokémon GO Community Day today, January 20, Trainers were able to catch a Pikachu that knows Surf. In addition, during Community Day hours, Lure Modules lasted for three hours and other bonuses were being activated. This inaugural Community Day gave Trainers the chance to earn double XP during event hours. It has officially concluded in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, India, Africa, the Americas and Greenland regions. To see a screenshot of one of the first surfing Shiny Pikachu caught during today’s event, click here. As part of the official Pokémon GO Community Day challenges, Niantic asked players to perform actions such as posting an AR photo of surfing Pikachu, sharing their location and grouping up with their Pokémon GO team. The developer is thanking all those who took part in the first-ever Pokémon GO Community Day, and it confirms that Pokémon GO Community Days will take place on a monthly basis.
