A special edition Detective Pikachu amiibo figure is launching alongside the Detective Pikachu game on March 23. This extra-large amiibo can unlock cutscenes if tapped in the Detective Pikachu game, revealing a combination of humorous content that might also provide a hint. This same content can be accessed in the game without the amiibo, but tapping the amiibo will allow players to unlock content more quickly. The Detective Pikachu amiibo figure will be available at a suggested retail price of $29.99. The Detective Pikachu amiibo is about 13.6cm tall and 8.3cm wide, while the original Super Smash Bros. series Pikachu amiibo measures at about 7.1cm tall and 4.9cm wide.
