New Pokémon GO update 1.67.1 and 0.95.3 now live on iOS and Android, required for new research features and catching Mew

Pokémon GO has been updated to version 1.67.1 and 0.95.3 across iOS and Android devices respectively. This update prepares the immensely-popular mobile game for the new research features launching this Friday, March 30. Official patch notes from the development team at Niantic are as follows:

Version 1.67.1 (iOS)

  • Introduced the new Field Research and Special Research feature that encourages Trainers to complete objectives to earn unique rewards.
  • Trainers can now discover the Mythical Pokémon Mew for the first time with Special Research!
  • Various bug fixes and performance updates.

Version 0.95.3 (Android)

  • Facebook credentials can now be used to log into the app via the ‘Account’ section in Settings.
  • Various bug fixes and performance updates.
