Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda confirms Pokémon Let’s Go will be compatible with Pokémon Switch 2019 and other future games

Game Freak director Junichi Masuda was recently interviewed by Famitsu about Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee. In the interview, Masuda confirmed that 2019’s Pokémon game on Nintendo Switch will be more in line with the previous handheld entries in the core series. “As for the 2019 title, we’re working with the idea that everyone will be playing on their own Switch, he said. “It’ll have the same kind of feeling as the previous games on handheld systems.”

Masuda also explained how he wants Pokémon from Let’s Go to be compatible with future titles, including 2019’s Pokémon Switch: “There have been times where you couldn’t bring Pokemon over from previous titles – I imagine that created some bad memories. I want to try and change that, if I can.” Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee are set to launch worldwide on November 16 for Nintendo Switch.
