Pokémon Essentials is one of the latest fan-made projects ordered to be shutdown by Nintendo. The 11-year-old Pokémon Essentials provided full tilesets, maps, music and sprites that players were able drag and drop onto a canvas to create a playable experience. Following Nintendo’s request, Pokémon Essentials will no longer be “hosted or distributed on PokéCommunity.” Pokémon Essentials downloads have been deleted, while the Fandom that hosted the wiki page has also stated Nintendo took action against it. Despite this news, PokéCommunity member Marin is urging Pokémon fans not to “freak out about the claim,” adding “there’s no reason to get angry with Nintendo or anyone else involved.” To learn more about this story, click here.
