Water-type Pokémon are the stars of October’s Pokémon GO research updates. Trainers who make a Research Breakthrough during October will earn an encounter with the Aurora Pokémon, Suicune. There’ll also be plenty of new Field Research tasks to complete, focusing on Suicune’s fellow Water-type Pokémon. And if you complete a certain Field Research task, you’ll also be able to catch a Spinda with a different pattern of spots. This new addition happens to be the first form of Spinda, which can be encountered after completing the “Make 2 Great Curved Throws in a row” task. Niantic wants to see your AR photos of Spinda, so be sure to share them via social media:
To make a Research Breakthrough, you’ll need to collect seven stamps by completing Field Research tasks, and you can only earn one stamp each day. You won’t find Legendary Pokémon roaming around anywhere in the wild, so don’t miss the chance to add Suicune to your collection in October. Shiny Krabby and Shiny Kingler have also made their Pokémon GO debuts.
