The Pokémon Company confirms Trainer Battles (PvP) are coming soon to Pokémon GO

Trainer Battles – also known as PvP battles – are finally coming to Pokémon GO in the near future. Niantic has shared the first batch of official screenshots and mini clips that depict a female Trainer ready for battle, standing on a seemingly empty field with an exclamation icon above her head and Poké Ball in her right hand:
