Niantic recently announced a brand-new Hoenn-themed event for Pokémon GO. From now until January 29 at 1 p.m. PST, Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn region are appearing more frequently in the wild. Plus, if you evolve Shroomish into Breloom during the event, it will know the exclusive move Grass Knot. See more details below:

- Field Research highlights Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn region.
- Raid Battles include Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn region, such as the Legendary Pokémon Kyogre and Groudon.
- Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn region have an increased chance of hatching from 7 km Eggs.
- If you evolve Shroomish into Breloom, it will know the exclusive move Grass Knot.
- You have a chance of encountering Shiny Zigzagoon, Shiny Taillow and Shiny Groudon for the first time.
- New avatar items inspired by Team Magma and Team Aqua—the original villains of the Hoenn region in Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire—are available in the Style Shop.
In addition, an updated batch of Hoenn Pokémon are now available as Raid Bosses across all possible tiers:
- Level 1 – Wingull, Plusle, Minun, Shuppet and Duskull
- Level 2 – Grovyle, Combusken, Marshtomp, Kirlia, Sableye and Mawile
- Level 3 – Lunatone, Solrock, Crawdaunt and Claydol
- Level 4 – Shiftry, Aggron, Absol and Metagross
- Level 5 – Kyogre and Groudon
