Pokémon GO Lunar New Year event ends tomorrow, February 13, at 1 p.m. PST

A new Lunar New Year event is now underway in Pokémon GO, with increased spawns of rare Pokémon until February 13 at 1 p.m. PST. Featured Pokémon include Spoink, Mankey, Mareep, Ekans, Ponyta, Poochyena, Miltank, Rattata, Electabuzz, Dratini and Buneary. All 12 of these Pokémon are inspired by the Zodiac. The latest in-game event gives players double XP when capturing or evolving Pokémon, as well as a greater chance to encounter Lucky Pokémon when trading with your friends. Shiny Spoink and Shiny Grumpig have also made their Pokémon GO debuts. Read on below for more details and specifics:

  • Feb. 4, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8) to Feb. 13, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8)M

Features

  • Rattata, Ekans, Mankey, Ponyta, Electabuzz, Dratini, Mareep, Miltank, Torchic, Poochyena, Spoink, and Buneary will appear more frequently in the wild
  • If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny Spoink

Bonuses

  • 2× Catch XP
  • 2× XP when evolving Pokémon
  • When you trade a Pokémon, there is an increased chance it will become a Lucky Pokémon
