During the closing ceremonies at the 2019 Pokémon World Championships, The Pokémon Company officially announced the location of the 2020 Pokémon World Championships. Next year’s massive competitive event is set to take place during August 2020 in London, England. With Pokémon Sword and Shield being the official video games used for competitive play during the 2020 Play! Pokémon Season, London was chosen due to the Galar region being modeled after the iconic city.
