More than 50,000 Nintendo Switch units were sold on launch day in China

China-based media company Tencent recently gained the Chinese government’s approval to sell the Nintendo Switch in the country. Read on below for more details:

Nintendo Switch launches in China with a one-game eShop

The gaming console was released by Chinese conglomerate Tencent on Tuesday, which saw Nintendo shares reach a 19-month high. Nintendo Switch makes its official debut in China today. There are many gamers in the country who already have one, of course, but easier to convince average consumers to pick one up when they don't have to go overseas or pay for international shipping.

They run the online servers / eshop as well as help localise and publish titles for the console as well as distribute the hardware.
