The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate NA Online Open February 2020 has officially been announced. Read on below for official details:

Next up in our Online Open Series, Nintendo brings you the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate North American Online Open February 2020 tournament! This tournament features the popular best-of-3 sets and no items. Battle it out on February 1 – 2, 2020 for an opportunity to be one of four finalists, each eligible to win a trip to Detroit, Michigan, including travel, accommodation, and entry to Frostbite 2020!

PRIZES

The top 4 players are eligible to receive a prize package including travel, accommodations, and registration for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 1v1 Singles event at Frostbite 2020.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

Play as much as you want during the 3 hours ladder round starting at 10AM PT on 2/1 for Regions 1 – 4 and 8AM PT on 2/2 for Regions 5 – 8. The top 32 players from each region will advance to a single-elimination, best-of-3 bracket later on in the day starting at 3PM PT for Regions 1 – 4 and 1 PM PT for Regions 5 – 8. This will continue until the Top 2 from each region are decided. The Top 2 from each region from each day will then continue onto the double-elimination finals to decide that day’s Top 2 winners.

SELECT YOUR REGION

Register and compete in Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate North American Online Open February 2020 tournament. The player experience is optimized by splitting the competition into 8 regions over two days. Please select the region from which you will play. You will be disqualified if you compete in more than one region.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Open to legal residents of the US and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are age 13+, and Mexico who are age 18+, and have access to a Nintendo Switch system, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game, reliable high-speed internet connection, and a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Registration Period begins 12/16/19 and ends 2/1/20 at 10:00 AM PT. Tournament date for regions 1 – 4 is 2/1/20 with a start time of 10:00 AM PT. Tournament date for regions 5 – 8 is 2/2/20 with a start time of 8:00 AM PT. Ultimate Singles event to be held 2/21/20 to 2/23/20 at Frostbite 2020 event in Detroit, Michigan, 4 nights lodging and round-trip airfare (or ground transportation if you live within reasonable driving distance), and a $350 Visa gift card (ARV $1,630 US each).
