Earlier this year, Nintendo‘s Shigeru Miyamoto opened up about the late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata in a special book that was published in Japan by Hobonichi. Due to his plethora of accomplishments and influences, the legendary Nintendo developer is officially being recognized as a Person of Cultural Merit by Japan. He’s also officially being recognized as one of the first four honorary citizens of Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture. Miyamoto was born in Nanata and is credited in The Kyoto Shimbun as leading game development at Nintendo, as well as for producing iconic franchises such as Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda.
