Super Smash Bros. Ultimate North American Online Open May 2020 and the finals will be livestreamed

The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate NA Online Open May 2020 has officially been announced. Read on below for official details:

Next in our Online Open Series, Nintendo brings you the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate North American Online Open May 2020 tournament! This tournament features the popular best-of-3 sets and no items. We’re introducing a new format this time around! Two regions will be competing each weekend from May 30th through June 21st. One winner from each weekend will win a prize pack consisting of one download code for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2*, Splatoon™ 2 game, and ARMS™ game.

Please note that registration for all four weekend tournaments close on May 30th at 8 AM PDT so sign up today!

PRIZES

Eligible winners from each weekend will win a prize pack consisting of:

• One download code for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2*
• One download code for the Splatoon™ 2 game
• One download code for the ARMS™ game

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

Play as much as you want during the 3 hours ladder round:

Region 1 and Region 2 will begin at 10:00 AM PT on June 20, 2020
Region 3 and Region 4 will begin at 10:00 AM PT on June 13, 2020
Region 5 and Region 6 will begin at 8:00 AM PT on June 6, 2020
Region 7 and Region 8 will begin at 8:00 AM PT on May 30, 2020
The Top 32 players from each region will advance to a single-elimination, best-of-3 bracket later in the day:

Region 1 and Region 2 will begin at 2:00 PM PT on June 20, 2020
Region 3 and Region 4 will begin at 2:00 PM PT on June 13, 2020
Region 5 and Region 6 will begin at 12:00 PM PT on June 6, 2020
Region 7 and Region 8 will begin at 12:00 PM PT on May 30, 2020
The top 4 from the single-elimination bracket will then continue onto the Finals Round. The double-elimination Finals Round will occur the following day:

Region 1 and Region 2 will begin at 10:00 AM PT on June 21, 2020
Region 3 and Region 4 will begin at 10:00 AM PT on June 14, 2020
Region 5 and Region 6 will begin at 10:00 AM PT on June 7, 2020
Region 7 and Region 8 will begin at 10:00 AM PT on May 31, 2020

Register and compete in Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate North American Online Open May 2020 tournament. The player experience is optimized by splitting the competition into 8 regions over two days and four weekends. Please select the region from which you will play. You will be disqualified if you compete in more than one region.
