Niantic has announced the Pokémon GO Community Day event for May 2021. Read on below to learn more:

Pokémon GO’s May Community Day Features Swablu

Catch Swablu, complete an event-exclusive Special Research Story, and challenge Mega Altaria on May 15.

This May’s Pokémon GO Community Day will star a Pokémon with wings like cottony clouds—Swablu! On Saturday, May 15, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Swablu will be appearing more often in the wild. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!

Naturally, Swablu’s Evolution, the Dragon- and Flying-type Pokémon Altaria, will also play an important role in the festivities. If you evolve Swablu during the event or up to two hours afterward, you’ll get an Altaria that knows the powerful Fairy-type Charged Attack Moonblast!

On top of that, Mega Altaria will make its Pokémon GO debut in Mega Raids on May 15 from 5:00 p.m. local time. Defeat Mega Altaria to collect Altaria Mega Energy and Mega Evolve the Altaria you collected during Community Day!

There will be additional bonuses in effect throughout the event, including Incense that lasts for three hours and 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance. Don’t forget to take some snapshots, too—you might be surprised by what you find!

Tickets to access a Community Day–exclusive Special Research story—Cotton-Winged Bird—will be available in the shop for US$1 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). There will also be a Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins that includes 50 Ultra Balls, five Super Incubators, five Incense, and an Elite Fast TM.

Stay fluffy, Trainers!
