Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet Ranked Battles Season 3 (February 2023)
Take on players from around the world now to climb the leaderboards and earn in-game rewards.
Anew Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet Ranked Battles season has begun! This is a great time to dive into the action to test your Trainer skills in head-to-head battles with players around the world, move up the global leaderboards, and earn helpful in-game rewards.
Running until February 28, 2023, at 3:59 p.m. PST, Ranked Battles Season 3 will follow the Series 2 regulations. Also, Pokémon are allowed to Terastallize during battle.
Eligible Pokémon
Eligible Pokémon for Ranked Battles Season 3 include Paldea Pokédex No. 001–392, 397, and 398. Pokémon not in the Paldea Pokédex and Legendary Pokémon are not permitted.
Season 3 Rewards
Before battle, you’ll be matched up with players of similar rank to ensure even competition. The higher the tier you finish in, the greater your in-game rewards after the season concludes. Season 3 rewards include the following:
Master Ball Tier
- Sweet Herba Mystica ×3
- Gold Bottle Cap ×1
- Bottle Cap ×3
- Ability Capsule ×1
- 100,000 League Points
Ultra Ball Tier
- Sweet Herba Mystica ×1
- Gold Bottle Cap ×1
- Bottle Cap ×1
- Ability Capsule ×1
- 60,000 League Points
Great Ball Tier
- TM171 (Tera Blast) ×1
- Bottle Cap ×1
- Ability Capsule ×1
- 30,000 League Points
Poké Ball Tier
- TM 171 (Tera Blast) ×1
- 10,000 League Points
Beginner Tier
- 5,000 League Points
How to Start a Ranked Battle
To start a Ranked Battle, follow these steps:
- Launch your Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game.
- Open the X menu.
- Select Poké Portal.
- Select Battle Stadium.
- Select Ranked Battles.
How to Receive In-Game Rewards
You will need to finish at least one match with a win or loss during Season 3 to be eligible for rewards at the end of the season. To receive your in-game rewards, follow these steps:
- After the season has ended, launch your Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game.
- Open the X menu.
- Select Poké Portal.
- Select Battle Stadium.
- Select Ranked Battles.

Series 2 Battle Format
Eligible Pokémon
Paldea Pokédex No. 001–392, 397, and 398 are eligible to participate. Certain Pokémon may not be used.
Only Pokémon obtained in Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet games are eligible. For more details, select Eligible Pokémon below.
Pokémon Levels
All Pokémon will automatically be set to Lv. 50 during battles.
Held Items
Duplicate held items are not allowed.
Timers
Total Time: 20 minutes
Player Time: 7 minutes
Preview Time: 90 seconds
Turn Time: 45 seconds
What Is a Series?
A series defines the regulations used in Ranked Battles and official Online Competitions during certain time periods. The same regulations are maintained for the duration of a series. Look out for information on which series regulations will be used for each Ranked Battles season and official Online Competition.

Battle data and results will be provided to Nintendo Co., Ltd., and The Pokémon Company (and its subsidiaries).
Players engaging in the following activities may receive penalties and be restricted from participating in future online events.
• Use of unauthorized methods to alter game save data, use of Pokémon that have data altered via altering code, or use of Pokémon created via altering code
• Significantly large number of disconnects during battle, from when your opponent has been decided to when the match results have been fully sent to the server (please ensure a stable connection environment when connecting to the internet)
• Troubling behavior that could affect other participants or make others feel unpleasant
• Actions that would obstruct battles and operations, such as hacking
• Registering with incorrect information or impersonating another player
• Other actions that operation hosts determine to be inappropriate
