GO Battle Weekend inspired by Clay now running in Pokémon GO on July 1 from 12 a.m. to July 2 at 11:59 p.m. local time, full event details revealed

Quake with Excitement for GO Battle Weekend: Clay

The Unova region’s Driftveil City Gym Leader serves as inspiration for a weekend of hard battlin’.

If yer fixin’ for a weekend of intense battles with incredible rewards, GO Battle Weekend: Clay is serving up heaps of fun! From July 1, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. to July 2, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. local time, the daily GO Battle League limits will be quadrupled from five sets to 20 for a total of 100 battles per day. Those extra battles will come with big rewards, including quadruple Stardust for winning. Plus, free and paid battle-themed Timed Research will also be available. Assemble your teams for the two active leagues during this event, the Master League Premier and the Single-type Cup: Great League Edition.

GO Battle Weekend: Clay packs a real rewarding punch! Trainers who complete the free Timed Research will earn a Clay-Style Hat. Plus, paid Timed Research will be available for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). Trainers who successfully complete the paid Timed Research tasks before July 2, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. local time will earn 30,000 Stardust, three Rare Candies, one Star Piece, and—if your Trainer Level is 31 or above—three Rare Candy XL. Trainers can purchase and gift research tickets to any Pokémon GO friend that they’ve achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with.

It’s time to get your battle on—another GO Battle Weekend is almost here!

GO Battle Weekends are special events where Trainers can participate in more battles than usual. This GO Battle Weekend is inspired by Clay, the Gym Leader of Driftveil City Gym in the Unova region from the Pokémon Black and Pokémon White games!

Get ready to shake things up, Trainers. Let’s GO!

GO Battle Weekend: Clay

Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, July 2, 2023, 11:59 p.m. local time

Bonuses

4× Stardust from win rewards. (This does not include the end-of-set rewards and will not stack with the 3× Stardust bonus from Master League rotation weeks.)
The maximum number of sets you can play per day will be increased from five to 20—for a total of 100 battles—from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time each day.
Free battle-themed Timed Research will be available. Rewards include the Clay-Style Hat.
Paid battle-themed Timed Research will be available.* Tasks will include battling in the GO Battle League 50 times and other battle-themed tasks. The research will award 30,000 Stardust, one Star Piece, three Rare Candies, and three Rare Candy XL for Trainers level 31 and up. This Timed Research will be available for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). IMPORTANT: Please note that Timed Research expires. To receive the rewards, the tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and the rewards claimed before Sunday, July 2, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. local time.
*Trainers will be able to purchase and gift tickets to any of their Pokémon GO friends that they have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. Please note that purchases—including those made for other Trainers—are non-refundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.
*Please note that this Timed Research Ticket will only be available in the in-game shop from Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, July 2, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. local time. To receive the Timed Research, you must open Pokémon GO at some point between Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, July 2, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. local time.

The following leagues will be active.

  • Master League Premier
  • Single-type Cup: Great League Edition

Reward changes during GO Battle Weekend: Clay

During GO Battle Weekend: Clay, the following changes will be made to the GO Battle League premium track.

  • Guaranteed Rare Candy XL for Trainers level 31 and up for their second win in a set.
  • Guaranteed Rare Candy for Trainers level 30 and below for their second win in a set.
  • Increased Stardust rewards compared to the basic reward track.
  • Order of premium track rewards will be rearranged.

Reward changes after GO Battle Weekend: Clay

After the conclusion of GO Battle Weekend: Clay, several changes will be made to the GO Battle League for the remainder of the Season.

First, all rewards from the premium track will be adjusted to be in the same reward order as the basic reward track but in increased amounts.

Also, Trainers level 31 and up will have the chance to receive a Rare Candy XL as an item reward after their second win in a set.
