Flying–Tera Type Blaziken with the Mightiest Mark now available in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet 7-star Tera Raid Battles until January 21 at 3:59 p.m. PST, full event details revealed

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are now available for Nintendo Switch. Read on below to learn more about one of the latest in-game events:

Blaziken Is Coming to 7‑Star Tera Raid Battles

Flying‑Tera Type Blaziken with the Mightiest Mark will soon be appearing at black Tera Raid crystals.

Blaziken with the Mightiest Mark is coming to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet black crystal Tera Raid Battles! You’ll face intense flames and incredible courage when you challenge this Pokémon between Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. PST and Sunday, January 14, 2024, at 3:59 p.m. PST, then again between Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. PST and Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 3:59 p.m. PST. Blaziken cannot normally be encountered in Paldea, and the Blaziken appearing during this event has Flying as its Tera Type. Be prepared—this Pokémon is a formidable foe, and it’s got the Mightiest Mark to prove it!

For the opportunity to encounter this Pokémon in Tera Raid Battles, you’ll need to have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News. You can do this by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, then Mystery Gift, then Check Poké Portal News. After that, whenever you see a sparkling pillar of light shining from a Tera Raid crystal, you can walk up to the crystal and interact with it to start a Tera Raid Battle with a Tera Pokémon.

To challenge Blaziken in black crystal Tera Raid Battles, Trainers will need to either complete the postgame events that follow the main story or join a 7-star Tera Raid Battle hosted by a Trainer who has completed those events. This special Blaziken can be caught only once per save data. You can still participate in Tera Raid Battles against this Blaziken if you’ve already caught it to obtain other rewards—including significant amounts of Exp. Candy for leveling up your Pokémon, treasures that can be sold at Pokémon Centers, items for improving your Pokémon’s stats, and Flying Tera Shards for changing your Pokémon’s Tera Type.

Catch a Blaziken with the Mightiest Mark!
Blaziken is appearing in black crystal Tera Raid Battles! You can try catching Blaziken from Friday, January 12, 2024, at 00:00 UTC to Sunday, January 14, 2024, at 23:59 UTC, then again from Friday, January 19, 2024, at 00:00 UTC to Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 23:59 UTC.

Blaziken cannot normally be encountered in Paldea, and the Blaziken appearing during this event has Flying as its Tera Type. Be prepared—this Pokémon is a formidable foe, and it’s got the Mightiest Mark to prove it! Work together with your friends to topple this powerful Tera Pokémon!

This special Blaziken can be caught only once per save data. If you caught this Blaziken previously during a Tera Raid Battle event, you cannot catch it again. You can still participate in Tera Raid Battles against this Blaziken to obtain other rewards if you’ve already caught it.

This Blaziken may be featured in future events or become obtainable through other methods.

What Is a Tera Raid Battle?

In a Tera Raid Battle, you’ll work together with three other Trainers to defeat a powerful Tera Pokémon before time runs out. The kinds of Pokémon encountered during Tera Raid Battle events will vary. Pokémon encountered in Tera Raid Battles may have a rare Tera Type.

Information about Tera Raid Battle Events

• To participate in Tera Raid Battle events, please download the latest Poké Portal News by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, then Mystery Gift, then Check Poké Portal News. You do not need a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership to receive the latest Poké Portal News.
• After completing certain postgame events, you’ll be able to find black Tera Raid crystals. However, players who haven’t completed these events may still participate in these Tera Raid Battles by joining other Trainers in multiplayer.
• A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) is required to participate in Tera Raid Battles with other Trainers online. Terms apply. Learn more at https://www.nintendo.com/switch-online.
• Tera Raid Battle events will occur only in the Paldea region.
