Everything you need to know about Grusha & Cetitan as a sync pair in Pokémon Masters EX

Pokémon Masters EX, the strategy and battling Pokémon game for mobile platforms, is now available for download on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). In celebration of the game’s popularity, special in-game events and rewards are offered on a regular basis.

Prepare for a Snowdown with Grusha & Cetitan in Pokémon Masters EX

Shred through battles with this chill Ice-type sync pair that can aid their allies by setting up an Ice Zone.

Grusha is the coolly collected Gym Leader of Glaseado Gym, famous for being a pro snowboarder before his current role on Glaseado Mountain. He may put up a cold front, but the facade quickly melts as battles heat up. Now he finds himself on Pasio, and despite all the fun, he’s still prone to freezing up when discussing his past. See how Grusha handles a rude reminder of who he once was in Story Event: Sub-zero—My Past, My Future?

Grusha & Cetitan

Grusha & Cetitan are an Ice-type support sync pair who specialize in protecting their allies and striking back at their opponents with the force of an avalanche. Their buddy move, Absolute Zero Ice Avalanche, has Grusha & Cetitan take up a defensive posture—this nullifies any attack targeting Grusha & Cetitan. Once Absolute Zero Ice Avalanche nullifies a move, Grusha & Cetitan strike back for double Absolute Zero Ice Avalanche’s power while lowering the target’s Attack and Sp. Atk by three stat ranks apiece.

This sick-nasty sync pair isn’t just about putting opponents on ice. Grusha & Cetitan can start an arctic beatdown all while supporting their allies with one quick use of Let’s Cool Down! This Trainer move turns the field of play into an Ice Zone—which powers up Ice-type attacks—and raises the Defense and Sp. Def of all allied sync pairs by two stat ranks. While Grusha may have a chilly reputation, he’s clearly willing to help anyone scale the battlefield’s many peaks.

For more details on this sync pair’s passive skills and moves, check out their in-game sync pair scout screen. Grusha & Cetitan are available to scout until February 10, 2024, at 9:59 p.m. PST.If you’re keen on scouting another Gym Leader from Paldea, Iono & Bellibolt are available to scout until January 31, 2024, at 9:59 p.m. PST.

Recommended Sync Pairs to Partner with Grusha & Cetitan

  • Pryce & Dewgong
Grusha & Cetitan can raise the defenses and critical-hit rate of their allies, so they partner well with most sync pairs, but Ice-type strike sync pairs have the most to gain from Grusha & Cetitan’s Ice Zone. Pryce & Dewgong’s Ice BeamIcy Wind, and sync move—Winter’s Lesson Aurora Beam—are all Ice-type attacks that do increased damage when the field of play is an Ice Zone. They also benefit from Grusha & Cetitan’s Dire Hit All + since their own Dire Hit can be sluggish.

Pryce & Dewgong can be acquired after completing Chapter 8 of the main story.

  • Hala & Crabominable
Like Pryce & Dewgong, Hala & Crabominable are an Ice-type strike sync pair whose Ice-type moves do increased damage thanks to Grusha & Cetitan’s ability to set up an Ice Zone. Hala & Crabominable’s Ice Hammer and Abominable Ice Hammer are already hard-hitting moves, but you can never have too much power! Grusha & Cetitan can further support Hala & Crabominable by raising their critical-hit rate with Dire Hit All +.Hala & Crabominable can raise their own critical-hit rate with Dire Hit +,but the faster they can start swinging the Ice Hammer, the better.

Hala & Crabominable are available to scout from the general pool of 5★ sync pairs, as well as from the 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scout and 5★-Guaranteed Alola Ticket Scout.

Stay frosty, Trainers!
