Dragon–Tera Type Charizard with the Mightiest Mark now appearing at 7-star Tera Raid Battles in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet until March 17 at 4:59 p.m. PDT, full event details revealed

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are now available for Nintendo Switch. Read on below to learn more about one of the latest in-game events:

Challenge Charizard in 7-Star Tera Raid Battles Soon

Get ready to battle a Dragon–Tera Type Charizard as it returns to Tera Raid Battles in the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games.

Charizard with the Mightiest Mark is returning to black Tera Raid crystals in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet! You’ve battled Venusaur and Blastoise in 7-star Tera Raid Battles to celebrate Pokémon Day, and soon Charizard will arrive to round out the iconic trio with a blaze of draconic power. You’ll be able to challenge Charizard in 7-star Tera Raid Battles from Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. Be prepared—this Pokémon is a formidable foe, and it’s got the Mightiest Mark to prove it!

Charizard cannot normally be encountered in Paldea—though you can use Blueberry Points to encounter Charmander in Blueberry Academy’s Terarium—and the Charizard appearing during this event has Dragon as its Tera Type. If you missed out on catching this Dragon–Tera Type Charizard during a previous Tera Raid Battle event, now is your chance to add this iconic Pokémon to your team! If you caught this Charizard previously, you will not be able to catch it again, but you can still defeat it in battle to earn plenty of rewards—including significant amounts of Exp. Candy for leveling up your Pokémon, treasures that can be sold at Pokémon Centers, items for improving your Pokémon’s stats, Dragon Tera Shards for changing your Pokémon’s Tera Type, and potentially even Herba Mystica for making delicious sandwiches.

For the opportunity to encounter this Pokémon in Tera Raid Battles, you’ll need to have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News. You can do this by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, then Mystery Gift, then Check Poké Portal News. After that, whenever you see a sparkling pillar of light shining from a Tera Raid crystal, you can walk up to the crystal and interact with it to start a Tera Raid Battle with a Tera Pokémon.

To challenge Dragon–Tera Type Charizard with the Mightiest Mark, Trainers will need to either complete the postgame events that follow the main story or join a 7-star Tera Raid Battle hosted by a Trainer who has completed those events. This special Charizard can be caught only once per save data.

Be warned: Charizard is certain to put up a tough fight. If you’re looking for some tips on how to defeat this powerful Pokémon, head on over to our Tera Raid Battle Tips article. Learn the ins and outs of Tera Raid Battles in the Paldea region so that you never miss a chance to catch a powerful Pokémon or earn handsome rewards.
