For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is pleased to showcase the art of the talented Zag (zaggito). He had the opportunity to participate in the fourth generation of Pokédex Ilustrada, organized by our friends from Ilustradoras Unidas.
Zag defines art as “the connective tissue of his being” because it allows him to explore and interact with his own existence and the world surrounding him.
“Pokémon has accompanied me since childhood and has served as an excellent outlet for my neurodivergence with its collecting and adventurous themes, giving me a warm world to immerse. And it has allowed me to meet people like me,” he shared.
According to Zag, Art and Pokémon are a natural combination for him.
“Pokémon has always been a huge influence on my artistic development. It was always a driving force since I loved drawing my favorite characters everywhere.”
“Pikachu is my favorite. I love the original design,” he shared. “I have cards, figurines, albums, the N64, and stuffed animals. Three of these stuffed animals could make sounds, move, and light up their cheeks and ears. I’ve drawn, painted, pixelated, and sculpted Pikachu. Some time ago, I made a Pikachu figure with a pumpkin on his head (I call him Pumpkachu),” he concluded.
