For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is delighted to feature the art of the gifted Ayu, also known as Ayukaba. She participated in the fourth generation of Pokédex Ilustrada and Vocaloid Trainer, both projects helmed by Ilustradoras Unidas.
For Ayu, art is an escape from her everyday life and allows her to return to those quiet childhood moments.
“To sum it up, art is that little getaway where I can test my knowledge and techniques I’ve been learning and polishing throughout the years,” she stated.
“Like many other people, I started my Pokémon journey with the GameBoy games, and since then, the Pocket Monsters have accompanied me,” she explained. “After that, Pokémon became the door to meet new people and host events like Pokémon Day Chile, and it even allowed me to be a part of the Professor Program as a VGC Judge. Pokémon has given me many opportunities to grow, create bonds, and meet other players all over my country.”
“I believe it’s only natural to be able to combine your love for the franchise with a personal expression. I think it’s another way to unite what you’re passionate about and expand it, giving it a unique value with your art,” she expressed.
Ayu has many favorite Pokémon. But if she has to choose, Dratini and Dragonair are her all-time favorites, followed closely by the Goomy line.
