FanArt Friday: Litleo and the Freedom to Dream!

For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is ecstatic to showcase the beautiful contribution to the sixth generation of Pokédex Ilustrada—the ambitious project led by our dear friends at Ilustradoras Unidas—by Aura, also known by her pseudonym Torre del Viento.

For Aura, art is a constant in her life.

It’s the space where she feels free—a place to experiment, challenge herself, and dream endlessly.

The Pokémon franchise has also been a constant presence in her life, providing her with some of her best childhood memories.

“When the Pokémon anime came to Chile, I became obsessed. I had posters, figurines, stuffed animals, and more. I remember that Christmas as the most fun I’ve ever had,” she recalled.

Aura finds creating Pokémon art very entertaining because of her love for the franchise, even though she doesn’t usually delve much into fan art. (“That’s why participating in Pokédex Ilustrada is a challenge for my way of working.”)

The story of how she discovered her favorite Pokémon is truly heartwarming.

“When Pokémon was first released, malls and supermarkets were filled with products from the anime series. For Children’s Day, my parents took me to choose a gift. Like many others at the time, I was obsessed with Pikachu, but every Pikachu-related item was sold out. So I chose the ones I liked best: Eevee and Flareon, which came together in a set. From that day on, I forgot about Pikachu, and since they were my first Pokémon figurines, I have always considered Eevee my starter and Flareon my favorite evolution,” she concluded.
