Minior makes Pokémon GO debut as Orionids meteor shower event begins

Minior has debuted in Pokémon GO as the Orionids meteor shower event, which began Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. local time and runs through Oct. 24 at 11:59 p.m. The debut kicks off a series of events offering Trainers chances to encounter Minior in the wild and collect its seven core colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. The Leonids follow Nov. 14-19 and the Geminids Dec. 11-16, with additional events planned for the Eta Aquariids from May 3-8, the Southern Delta Aquariids from July 28 through Aug. 2 and the Perseids from Aug. 10-15. Each shower introduces one core color in the Northern Hemisphere and another in the Southern Hemisphere. Minior appears in Meteor Form, with higher Defense and lower Attack, until its HP drops below 50% in battle, when it exposes its core and gains higher Attack but lower Defense; initially, the change is limited to battles against Team GO Rocket, team leaders and the GO Battle League. Trainers earn increased Stardust for catching Minior during each event, while Explore by Starlight activates daily from 5-9 p.m. local time, adding shooting stars to the sky and boosting Minior’s wild encounter rate. Minior is not eligible for the 2027 Latin America International Championships.
