A new children’s book called Plugged In revolves around a video games-obsessed boy named Sam, who finds himself in a land that “blurs the line between the real and virtual worlds.” To set things right and get back home, Sam has to “team up with heroes from his video game collection.” This means is that every page features a cameo of some sort from author Ian Wenstrand’s childhood, which included everyone from Fox McCloud of Star Fox, to EarthBound’s Ness, to Ash Ketchum from Pokémon.
