Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon players are no longer battling using Pokémon from the entire National Pokédex in the 2018 International Challenge January Online Competition, which officially concluded a few hours ago. This was the first Online Competition where Trainers used the 2018 Championship Series rules. The top players in each age division will receive Championship Points, which contribute toward the chances of earning an invitation to the Pokémon World Championships. Players must be opted in to the Play! Pokémon program and have a Player ID at the time the competition began to be eligible for Championship Points. All qualified competitors will also receive 50 Battle Points. To qualify, eligible players must have earned a place in the rankings by completing at least three battles.
