During the Nintendo Direct: E3 2018 video presentation, Nintendo officially announced that Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch is called Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which is being co-developed by Bandai Namco. The highly-anticipated includes Mewtwo, Pikachu, Pichu, Pikachu, Lucario, Jigglypuff, Greninja, Pokémon Trainer with Charizard, Ivysaur and Squirtle as confirmed playable characters. Cosplay Pikachu, Pikachu Libre and female Pikachu will be featured as well for the first time in the series as alternate costumes for Pikachu. In addition, Leaf and female Pokémon Trainer will be available as alternate costumes for the standard Pokémon Trainer. It was also revealed that Pichu will still be capable of damaging itself via executing its own attacks.
Players will once again be able to select the popular Nintendo GameCube gamepad as their control method. The game also supports compatible amiibo figures. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate includes every single playable character since the original Nintendo 64 release. This includes all playable Pokémon. Bewear and the Legendary Solgaleo have also been confirmed as temporary summons via Poké Ball items. Also confirmed as new Poké Ball summons are Lunala, Alolan Vulpix, Abra, Alolan Raichu and Scizor. Abra is capable of grabbing your opponent and taking them away via the move Teleport. Prism Tower, Pokémon Stadium, Saffron City and more Pokémon stages have also been confirmed to be included.
Ridley from the Metroid series has also been confirmed as the newest playable character. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be released on December 7, 2018. Nintendo has also unveiled the box art and logo for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The company has also released the first batch of official screenshots featuring Pikachu and Pichu in action. The official website for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now live, featuring footage, images for each fighter, a page to check out the game’s new theme song and much more. In Japan, the game is officially called Super Smash Bros. Special. Nintendo has unveiled multiple trailers and new footage for the game. Nintendo has unveiled the main theme for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The publisher has also released standalone trailers for all 65 confirmed playable characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, from Mario to Ridley. A slew of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate props can be found at Nintendo’s E3 2018 booth this week. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s framerate is 1080p and 60fps when docked, and it’s 720p and 60fps in handheld mode on Nintendo Switch.
