The Pokémon Company recently announced plans to move the major Pokémon Center location in Yokohama to Marine City, also located in Yokohama, on November 9, 2018. The updated store will be significantly larger than the original and will house a more modern ocean-style theme. The current location, which can be found at Landmark Plaza, will officially close its doors on October 28, 2018. From September 3 until closing day, The Pokémon Company is hosting a special thank-you campaign for fans. As part of this campaign, visitors can receive free commemorative cards and engage in Pokémon battles via Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
To celebrate the new location, The Pokémon Company will be hosting a massive campaign from November 9 to December 2, 2018, across all Pokémon Center and Pokémon Store locations throughout Japan. During this period, customers will be able to get exclusive merchandise themed after the renewal, including plushies, charms, Pokémon TCG promo cards and more. Fans will also be able to take photos alongside official mascot versions of Pikachu. In addition, Pokémon GO players with a Gold Gym Badge will receive a commemorative sticker at no additional cost while supplies last. To learn more about this campaign, click here.
