Certain characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate take damage while being submerged in water. Being Fire-type Pokémon, Charizard and Incineroar are among this group. Inklings and Sonic also fall in this category, as shown in the embedded video below. Here are all the Swimming and Drowning Animations for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. A few characters however take damage when they are swimming such as Sonic who never could swim. This is sorta a cool Easter Egg as they reference their video games for characters who shouldn’t go swimming!
