The Pokémon Company has revealed that next year’s Pokémon anime movie – officially titled Pokémon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution – will premiere in Japan on July 12, 2019. The film was initially announced via a brief teaser that was first shown in 2018. The upcoming movie is being directed by Kunihiko Yuyama and Motonori Sakakibara, while the screenplay is by Takeshi Shudo. Meanwhile, The Pokémon Company International has confirmed that the film will be released outside of Japan by sharing an iconic quote from Pokémon: The First Movie.
