Lapras has officially been appointed as a new Pokémon ambassador for 2019, following in the footsteps of Slowpoke and Sandshrew in 2018. The lovable Transport Pokémon will be the mascot of the Miyagi Prefecture in the Tōhoku region of Japan in October 2019. Pokémon fans can look forward to Lapras-themed merchandise, products and activities. In addition, special Pokémon GO events will be held as well.
