Developed by Game Freak, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be launching simultaneously in late 2019 worldwide exclusively for Nintendo Switch. The games take place in Galar, an expansive region with diverse environments— an idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forest and snow-covered mountains. The people and the Pokémon who live there work together closely to develop the industries in the region. Fans will have the opportunity to visit various Gyms in the Galar region in their quest to become Champion.
In a now-deleted post on Twitter, Nintendo of America said: “It appears in Pokémon Sword and Shield that gyms in the Galar region are now bigger than ever! What types of Gym Masters are waiting for you to challenge them? You and your new partner Pokémon will have to train hard and find out!”
