Spooky Festival Costumes Debut in Part 2 of the Pokémon GO Halloween 2022 Event
Get festive with Pokémon in Spooky Festival costumes, exciting research, and more.
The second part of Pokémon GO’s Halloween 2022 Event is serving up plenty of treats with several Pokémon debuting Spooky Festival costumes through November 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Keep an eye out for Vulpix, Ninetales, Gengar, Pumpkaboo, and Gourgeist wearing their spooky finest.
Event bonuses from the first part of the event will remain in effect, including double Candy for catching, hatching, and transferring Pokémon. Trainers above level 31 will continue to receive one guaranteed Candy XL when walking with their buddy. Make like the boogeyman and dance to a remix of the music of Lavender Town, which will continue to play at night.
There’s nothing scarier than the unknown, so help Professor Willow and Rhi with Halloween-themed Special Research to learn more about Yamask and Galarian Yamask. You may even encounter Shiny Galarian Yamask for the first time in Pokémon GO—if you’re lucky! Trainers have until the event ends to claim their Special Research.
Two different sets of Timed Research tasks are also available for purchase. For US$1.00*, Trainers can purchase a ticket offering encounters with Yamask as a research reward. Tickets are also available for US$5.00* that feature increased Candy bonuses, additional Halloween-themed tasks, and an avatar item.

Pokémon GO Halloween 2022 Part II keeps the tricks and treats coming!

It’s time for Part II of the Pokémon GO Halloween 2022 event, and several Pokémon are leading the celebrations—each wearing a Spooky Festival costume for the first time in Pokémon GO! But remember to keep an eye out—nobody knows what kinds of things you may run into during Halloween!
Pokémon GO Halloween 2022 Part II
Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time
Don’t forget: Part I of the Pokémon GO Halloween 2022 Event runs from Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time!
Pokémon debuts
Vulpix wearing a Spooky Festival costume, Ninetales wearing a Spooky Festival costume, Gengar wearing a Spooky Festival costume, Pumpkaboo wearing a Spooky Festival costume, and Gourgeist wearing a Spooky Festival costume will also make their Pokémon GO debuts!
Timed Research
In addition to the Special Research available to all Trainers, paid tickets for Timed Research will also be available during the event.
Ticket 1: For US$1 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency, plus any applicable taxes and fees), you can purchase a ticket that grants access to first Timed Research featuring encounters with Yamask.
Ticket 2: For US$5 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency, plus any applicable taxes and fees), you can purchase a ticket that grants access to Timed Research featuring increased Candy bonuses, additional Halloween-themed tasks, and an avatar item.
Trainers can purchase either one of these tickets, or both. Each ticket features unique Timed Research tasks.
IMPORTANT: Please note that Timed Research will expire. The tasks associated with Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 10 a.m. local time.
Trainers will be able to purchase and gift tickets to any of their Pokémon GO friends that they have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. Please note that purchases—including those made for other Trainers—are non-refundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.
Special Research
You can assist Professor Willow and Rhi in Halloween-themed Special Research! Along the way, you’ll learn more about Yamask and Galarian Yamask. Also, for the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Galarian Yamask—if you’re lucky!
Special Research will be available to claim from Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Eggs
The following Pokémon will hatch from 7 km Eggs. Also, for the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Noibat—if you’re lucky! Noibat hatched from these Eggs will also have a greater chance of being Shiny than Noibat found in the wild.
Wild encounters
The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild.
Avatar updates
During the event, the Spooky Pose found in the in-game shop will be updated to include movement–it will shamble forward! This update will apply to all future and past purchases of the Spooky Pose.
New Halloween-themed avatar items will also be available in the in-game shop!

A remix of the Lavender Town music will be playing nightly during this year’s Halloween event. Turn up your in-game sound to feel like you’re taking a stroll through Lavender town!
