The Pokémon Company and Nintendo have announced that Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 1: Bubbly Basin will launch Aug. 5 on Nintendo Switch 2, introducing a new underwater town packed with exclusive Pokémon, building options and exploration features. The paid DLC lets players rebuild the submerged community using new buoyant blocks, grow underwater watermelons with the help of Pokémon, unlock themed furniture, outfits, smoothies and a Surf power-up while venturing into the deep sea to uncover hidden areas guided by glowing coral. Players can also construct a Sharpedo submarine room and discover a new Dream Island that supports underwater multiplayer. Alongside the expansion, the free Version 2.0.0 update will add the Dive move, which Ditto learns from Manaphy after meeting specific in-game requirements, allowing underwater exploration and construction for all players. The Pokémon Company also revealed that Part 2, planned for late 2026, will introduce wearable accessories for both players and their Pokémon along with additional furniture and Pokémon, while the Expansion Pass remains available for purchase with bonus in-game rewards for early buyers.
