Pokémon GO will celebrate Pokémon Horizons: The Series with a special in-game event running from Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. through Sept. 22, 2026, at 8 p.m. local time, featuring the debut of Charmander wearing Friede’s goggles. The costumed Charmander can evolve into Charmeleon and Charizard wearing Friede’s goggles, with 25 and 100 Charmander Candy required respectively, while lucky Trainers may encounter Shiny versions or Pokémon with Special Backgrounds. Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat will also return, appearing in the wild and one-star raids, while Charizard wearing Friede’s goggles, Meowscarada, Skeledirge and Quaquaval will headline three-star raids. Wild encounters will rotate throughout the day, with Fidough, Wattrel and potentially Chansey appearing from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., followed by Eevee, Hatenna and potentially Rockruff from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. The event also increases Kecleon encounters at PokéStops and introduces a free GO Pass with progression rewards including extra Candy, Lure Module bonuses and additional Stardust, while GO Pass Deluxe upgrades offer extra Pokémon encounters, Premium Battle Passes and Rare Candy XL. Trainers can also encounter Pokémon and characters from Pokémon Horizons when taking snapshots during the event. In the U.S., Pokémon Horizons: Season 3—Rising Hope is available on Netflix, while U.K. viewers can watch it on BBC iPlayer.
