Here’s everything you need to know about Rating Battle Season 5 for Pokémon Sun and Moon

Pokémon Sun and Moon players can compete in ranked online matches in the latest Rating Battle Season to have fun and test their skills as Pokémon Trainers. The leaderboards are reset for each Rating Battle Season, so everyone who battles will start at the same point. As you battle more, you’ll move up and down the rankings based on your match outcomes. Rating Battle Season 5 runs from July 18 through September 11—giving you plenty of time to battle your way to the top.

As in every Battle Season, you can battle in standard Single and Double Battles, Championship Series battles, and a special format. This season, the special format features Single Inverse Battles, with all of the standard Pokémon and item requirements still in effect. Inverse Battles can test even the most experienced Trainers—during an Inverse Battle, type matchups are reversed and no type is immune to any other type. See the Special Formats regulations for details. No matter how you choose to battle, you’re sure to face a fun challenge against players all over the world.

Remember you’ll need a Pokémon Trainer Club account and your own copy of Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon registered at the Pokémon Global Link to participate.

Visit the Pokémon Global Link to keep an eye on your record and rankings throughout Rating Battle Season 5. You can also take a look at which Pokémon are the most popular in each format, as well as their most common moves and more.
