During Professor Willow Week, the developer wants players of its immensely-popular mobile game to share Professor Willow fanart and cosplay. Niantic is posting its favorites throughout the week. In addition, the developer is now sharing some Professor Willow facts for Professor Willow Week. According to Niantic, Professor Willow looks up to Professor Oak and used to be his assistant.
The developer also says Professor Willow’s birthday is July 21, which is also the same day the immensely-popular mobile game launched in Japan. Niantic has also shared the beautiful drawing of Professor Willow. The developer has also shared a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of its newest loading screen featuring Professor Willow.
According to Niantic, Professor Willow’s mom researched Pokémon ecology, and his dad was fascinated by the outdoors. He was also an only child. Professor Willow also has a dream to analyze uncharted territory, examining new Pokémon that have yet to be discovered and documenting where they live. He is also said to always wear his white lab coat, no matter what. He also has a pretty strong shy side:
