The upcoming Pokémon anime series is simply called Pocket Monsters, a direct reference to when the anime first began back in 1997. The setting takes place in all Pokémon regions to date, including Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola and Unova. Ash and Pikachu are returning alongside a new trainer named Go and his partner Scorbunny.
Go is described as a 10-year-old boy who’s aim is to catch the Mythical Pokémon Mew, which he remembers meeting when he was younger. He typically has a calm demeanor but also has a tendency to be hot-blooded. The series will officially premiere on November 17, 2019, at 5:30 p.m. JST. Even more details will be revealed during the next episode of Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon on October 13 in Japan.
